Rolling Bridge Jack Installation & Operation Manual Guide

What are Rolling Bridge Jacks?

Bridge jacks, or rolling bridge jacks as they are alternatively known, are rolling jacks that essentially help you only if you operate or own a lift, more commonly known as a four post (or 4-post) lift. They are generally built with high grade steel and the finest quality components to be durable in the lifting process, by going into the open space between the two runways.

Their grease fittings for maintenance, specialized materials for durability, and durable finishes for sustainability allow them to work with almost any aboveground lifts. This not only makes them universal, but ideally suited to any of the following lifts: Rotary, Bend-Pak, Challenger, Forward, WheeltTonics, Snap On, Hoffman, John Bean Company, Western, Benwill, Globe, Stertil-Koni, ARI-HETRA, Giro-Lift, Stenhoj and Hunter.

In-depth Installation Guide & Operation Manual for Rolling Bridge Jacks

⚠WARNING: StanJacks are simple to install but always remember that your safety depends on proper installation training so do not attempt to install this equipment unless you have it. Pay attention at all times. Use appropriate tools and lifting equipment. Stay clear of moving parts. Wear appropriate protective equipment during setup.

1. Set up the rolling bridge jacks in accurate positions of the lifts – If you use a single jack, then do not use it in the middle of the lift, which may cause it damage. If using two jacks, then stack them on the ends, never closer to each other than 30% of the length of the runway of the lift.

2. Set up the runway of the lift in accurate positions – Make sure the lift runways were installed parallel to each other with the distance between them equal along the entire length of the lift. If the lift runways are not parallel, moving the jack becomes difficult, forcing it off the utility rail, increasing its chances of falling and being damaged or causing injury.

3. Set up the Air – Operated Hydraulic Pump accurately- You need to orient each rolling bridge jack such that the air-operated hydraulic pump is facing the lift’s cross tube, the outside of the lift. This makes it easier to route the integrated air lines and access the pump.

Why Choose Stan Design Inc. StanJack Bridge Jack Range?

Heavy-Duty Hydraulics or Air Bag – You can choose between hydraulic or air bag models depending on your preference and needs. Both options offer powerful and smooth lifting without any hand pumping required.

Multi-Level Safety – All Stan Jack rolling bridge jacks have a built-in safety lock mechanism that engages automatically at different heights. No need for additional stands or chocks to secure the vehicle.

Dual Hand Controls – All  rolling bridge jacks have a detachable remote-control pendant with two buttons: one to lift and one to lower. This ensures that you always have full control over the jack.

Stackable Adapters – All bridge jacks come with low and high adapters that can be stacked together to fit different vehicle sizes and shapes. The adapters are stored on the jack for convenience.

Special Roller Bearing Wheels – All Stan Jack bridge jacks have four full floating casters that allow for effortless rolling and maneuvering. The wheels are made of special roller bearings that reduce friction and wear.

Convenient Pull Handle – All Stan Jack bridge jacks have a pull handle that makes it easy to position the jack under the vehicle. The handle can also be extended for rear axles.

High Gloss Powder Coat Paint – All Stan Jack bridge jacks have a high gloss powder coat paint that protects them from corrosion and rust. The paint also gives them a sleek and professional look.

What is the Hydraulic Mechanism of Jack Operation Used by StanJacks?

Hydraulic rolling bridge jacks are mechanical devices used to lift heavy loads and forces like trucks, sports utility vehicles, or other types of cars, among other heavyweight items, while fitted into a lift. The reason why the Stan Design Inc. hydraulic system StanJack rolling bridge jacks make a great tool for truck owners is the agility it offers.

Its components work in accordance with Pascal’s law or the principle of fluid mechanics to produce applications in a range of fields including but not limited to the automotive industry.

Like any hydraulic jack, the anatomy of the Stan Design Inc. StanJack can be broken down into these main parts, namely:

  • Reservoir or buffer tank
  • Pump with piston or plunger
  • Pump lever or handle
  • Check valve
  • Main cylinder or ram
  • Release valve
  • Handle

The reservoir or buffer tank is the physical compartment of the hydraulic rolling bridge jack which holds the hydraulic fluid or pump oil. When the handle or lever of the pump with piston or plunger is mechanically lowered or raised, it builds up pressure in the adjoining compartment, i.e., the reservoir or buffer tank containing the hydraulic fluid or pump’s oil.

This applied pressure is transferred from the pump through a check valve and into the main cylinder or the ram, which extends out of the hydraulic rolling bridge jack body creating the required lifting force and lifting the load.
